Programs and Assemblies for Students Today's students are so often,
bored, stressed, disengaged, and disinterested. They feel no We can change this. In assemblies for students, Suzanne gives them a different view of education, and of themselves in it. She excites them about learning, and shows them that "hard" isn't necessarily bad, and "fun" doesn't have to mean "easy." She introduces them to some of the
great heroes and heroines of math's rich history. She shows them uses for math they
never imagined, and that math is far more than numbers. She gives them strategies to become better learners, and ideas for studying they have never seen before. Before this program, few students know how to really study math, but after, they know how, and why - and not for the obvious (and somewhat unconvincing) reasons they have heard before. Suzanne also shows them that even the slowest students have strengths in math they never knew they had, and that speed isn't always all it's cracked up to be. The assemblies are living and engaging, warm and fun. Students leave seeing math and education differently, and seeing a place for themselves within it. Programs are offered around the country, for elementary, middle, and high school students, and are tailored and adjusted to meet the needs of a particular school. We try hard to work within any school or group's budget, so that we can offer this important and positive message to so many of our students. They won't ever feel the same way about school again. And they won't ever again feel that they don't belong in education - even when it feels hard. They don't mind "hard" in their sports; after this program, they just might not mind "hard" in school either. Contact us with your group's particulars, so we can arrange a great program for your school, and your students.
